Peanuts are a good source of protein, unsatured (good) fats, fibre, vitamins and minerals (such as vitamin E, potassium, iron, calcium). REGULAR peanut butters that you find in your local stores are mostly with added salt and/or extra fat such as palm oil. Some even have added sugars in them 🙄

They add salt and other oils to enhance flavor and consistency which prevents the oil, naturally present in peanut butter, from separating and rising to the top of the jar. For those who already have a natural peanutbutter in their closet probably would have already noticed this phenomenom, just a little stir before serving aaaand problem solved

Look for the natural 100% peanut butters in the store. You’ll recognise a natural peanutbutter by their smoothness in contrary to the regular ones. That’s how you know you’re dealing with the good stuff! When in doubt, check the list of ingredients. It should have 1 ingredient only..
