Growing up I’ve always been a competitive person, whether it came to being the fastest kid in class, or the best at finishing a task.

I had been into sports all my life, ranging from basketball and waterpolo, and finally competitive swimming.

My swimming background is what had shaped my mentality when entering the gym for the first time at the age of 15. I was extremely young, and determined to learn and progress.

The reason I wanted to become a coach in CrossFit was because I know what its like to not know where to start from. Being a young athlete in a commercial gym, I had to learn complex movements such as ring muscle ups, Squat Cleans and even snatches by myself.

It was only after my first CrossFit open of 2020, when I had officially become an “Rx” athlete in and had eventually been presented the opportunity to become a coach. This is the time where I had managed to excel as a coach and as an athlete.

Being in the position that I am now has allowed me to look at training from an extremely different perspective as to what it originally was.

Now I see training as a way to better yourself and maintain a form of routine in your daily life where you’re time invested provides results.

My journey as an athlete is the reason I love to coach. Seeing the journey of a client who had started out struggling to do a pushup or lift a barbell and eventually get their first muscle up is one of the most satisfying things you can accomplish as a coach, friend and competitive athlete.
